July 6, 2008:
Welcome to 2008. As everyone has seen and
experienced, travel costs are much worse than last year putting the cost of an
average weekend over $40 for gas and tolls. My schedule so far has been
very limited because I'm marching with the Reading Buccaneers this summer.
I will do my best to get the site ready for this season as soon as I can.
I'm also working on putting all the site updates into a blog page that you can
subscribe to with various sites like Google, MSN or anything else that allows
RSS feeds.
After my experiences during the musical I've
picked up some new equipment for this season and have plans for some additional
items by the time the musical rolls around. I'm also working on designing
my business site and have been looking off and on for some templates that I
could use for this site, but the problem lies in integrating everything with the
photo gallery. If you're a designer or even if you're looking for a
project to earn some course credit I could really use some help so please get in
touch with me. I doubt I will have the free time to make any major site
changes before September but will make an effort to have everything for this
season ready by the time band camp comes in about a month. My project
plans from last year have been delayed considerably, but I still plan on design
work for my ST sites and a new ordering system and some new content.
Even with my schedule I did get a chance to head down to
Wildwood to see the indoor guard at TIA prelims and there are photos in the
gallery. I also have a set of photos that was sent to me by Kim Holston,
and will get them added to the site as soon as I can. After some trial and
error I have found a method of fixing the 2007 and I'm working on that as I get
a chance and should have it wrapped up this week. I haven't ordered the
2008 video yet, I'll try to do that soon.
As far as this year is concerned, my schedule will again
be dictated by the cost of travel and I'll try to use some of the time on the
off weekends to make some improvements to the site and test out some new things.
If you have any questions or comments feel free to call or drop me a line.

The first set of photos for the season was posted a few
hours ago. I'm working with some new equipment this year and will try to
get more close shots from track level during football games so if you have any
requests, send them my way. Along with the updates this weekend I will be
posting a new price list along with some new choices in frames, posters, albums
and other items of interest. I've been looking through industry
publications for the past few months and comparing offerings so you name it, I
can probably have it produced. My other goals for the weekend are to post
the fixed 2007 indoor video and maybe get some other videos online in addition
to working on my professional sites. The update blog I mentioned is online
and I am working on taking all of the news items from this site and the musical
site and importing them into the blog to make it search and RSS friendly.
The address for the blog is
http://www.nrsmediaservices.com/hannablog/.
I'm still looking for some designers to help with ideas
for a new design for this site and the musical site. I'm not sure how much
I can pay for the help but I will try to come up with something. You will
of course be credited for your work. This can be a design of your own or
an adaptation of something from a template site. If you have ideas or want
to help out, drop me a line.

No new photos this weekend due to the weather. I do
have multiple camera bodies which allows me to have primary and backup
equipment, in the event of bad weather at a show I will still be able to produce
something for the site. I'm working on the 2007 indoor video and I can
produce a file for Quicktime no problem, but I've been through many different
programs trying to produce something that will work for Windows Media. I
normally use DivX but there is something with the audio that it doesn't like.
It seems that Microsoft has some newer software than Windows Media Encoder, but
that's not working either.

Photos from the West Shore USSBA show have been posted.
I'm still working on trying to make the 2007 indoor video work in Windows Media
format, if I can't get it working soon I will post the Quicktime version.
The new price list is almost finished as well. Next update will be after
the Mechanicsburg show in 2 weeks.
