Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Tonight
we are proud to present the 1992 edition of the Susquehanna Township High School
Marching Band! The band is comprised of 50 musicians and 18 color guard members,
and is under the field direction of Drum Majors Leslie Minnick, Will Eckerson,
and Johanna Bechtel.
This year marks the band's third year of
competition, and has awards of best music, best marching, best Drum Majors, best
band front, best percussion, in addition to second and fourth place finishes at
Chapter VI Championships. The band also holds the honor of representing
Chapter VI at Atlantic Coast Championships the past two consecutive seasons! One
of our primary goals is to provide our audiences with a demanding, yet
entertaining musical and visual program. We are certain you will enjoy
this year's program!
This year, the STHS Band brings the sound
of Jazz to the field, opening with the classic "GEORGIA ON MY MIND,"
featuring Chris Peddigree on trumpet. Next, the band presents a new and
unique arrangement of the standard "BLUES IN THE NIGHT," arranged by
Bill Perbetsky, featuring the talents of Marc Cochran on trumpet, Ashleigh
Rodriguez on mellophone, Will Eckerson on trombone, and Connie Fleck on tuba.
Closing the show is a beautiful ballad appropriately titled "LET IT BE ME,"
featuring Ashleigh Rodriguez, Amy Sedor, and Jordanna Langiotti on mellophone,
and Marc Cochran on trumpet.
The band is under the direction of Bill
Perbetsky. Assistant director and drill designer/instructor is Silvia
Perbetsky. Assistance drill instructor and visual assistant is Brian
Peffley. Color Guard instructor is Tom Sipe. Assistant guard
instructor is Heather Peffley. Percussion instruction is provided by John
Stauffer, and assistant percussion instructor is Ray Powell.
The STHS Band would like to thank the
Susquehanna Township Music Boosters Association for their continuous assistance,
support, dedication, and faithfulness; the STHS Board of Directors, as well as
the STHS Administration for their interest in our efforts, and last but not
least, our parents, who have always believed in us!
We now ask everyone to sit back, relax, and
join us in this evening's "Journey In Jazz!". We hope you enjoy the show!
And now... the Susquehanna Township High School Marching Band!
