Good evening ladies and gentlemen.
Tonight we are proud to present the 1991 edition of the Susquehanna Township
High School Marching Band. The band is under the field direction of Drum
Majors Julie Reichert and Leslie Minnick. The band is comprised of 51
musicians and 20 band front members. This season marks the band's second
year of competition. In last year's first season of competition, the band
finished tied for second place at Chapter VI Championships, and was proud to
attend the Atlantic Coast Championships. We pride ourselves with providing
our audiences with an entertaining musical and visual program.
This year's program opens with a haunting
composition by French composer Andre Jutras entitled "MOVENTA."
Then the band presents a piece inspired by the music of Russia, composed by
Warren Barker entitled "OVERTURE A LA RUSSE," featuring Will Eckerson on trombone,
Marc Cochran on trumpet, Ashleigh Rodriguez on mellophone,
and Connie Fleck on tuba. Following this is a serene ballad aptly entitled
"BALLADE," featuring Ashleigh Rodriguez on mellophone, and Marc
Cochran on trumpet. Closing this year's program is the spirited and
driving "FINALE," by Ed Huckeby.
The band is under the direction of Bill
Perbetsky. Drill Designer and Instructor is Silvia Perbetsky. Band
Front Instructor is Tom Sipe. Guard and Visual assistance is provided by
George Staib Jr. Drill Assistance is provided by Rosalind Staib.
Percussion instruction is provided by John Stauffer and Tom Willard. Music
arrangements are by Bill Perbetsky.
The band would like to thank the
Susquehanna Township School District and Music Boosters Association for all
their assistance. We would also like to thank the parents for their
continued support and encouragement. We are proud to be a part of this
evening's activities, and we hope you enjoy the show! And now, the Susquehanna
Township High School Marching Band!
