February 28, 2000:
Added
a photo sent to me by Julie Barber and added a page about submitting your photos
to this site. I would really love to have more photos of shows or parades,
so please contact me if you can help. To see more details of my requests
and offers, please
go here. Basically, if you
can't scan them, I am willing to pay the postage for you to ship them to me and
I will then return them to you within a few days. If you don't wish to
mail them, they can be left in care of me at the UPS Store on Linglestown Road in Harrisburg.
If you have photos you would like displayed on this site or would like more
information, please contact me.
Thank you!
April 21, 2000:I am expecting to
obtain a new collection of marching band photos soon. Once I get them, I
will immediately get to work on adding them to the site. Also, over the
summer, I will be redesigning the site a little bit with some different fonts,
maybe some other things. Keep an eye on this page for details.
May 29, 2000:A few weeks ago, I
was given a collection of several hundred band photos from 1997 up to the
present school year. I have scanned these in batches and am spending
whatever time I can to get these batches processed for the site. So far,
I've finished the first stage of processing the batches for 1997-1998.
There are 78 photos right now, and as soon as I finish processing the batches
for 1998-99 and 1999-2000 photos, I will start sorting through them all to
determine what shows or events they are from (to the best extent
possible). Thanks to Jason Sharp & family, this will be a great
addition to the site and will certainly have me busy for a while!
June 27, 2000:I
have not had a lot of time to work on the batches of photos, but I am doing my
best to get through them and get them added to the site. By request of Ron
Massey (guard instructor) I am concentrating on the collection for 1997-1998 and
expect to have the work done tomorrow if I can't finish them tonight.
These photos will be watermarked before they are uploaded, and the same will be
done with other new photos for the site. I will work on the other photos
that are already on the site once I am finished with the new collections.
Look for a preview of the 2000-2001 season sometime in mid July to early August.
June 28, 2000:The
new collection of 1997-98 photos has been uploaded and is in place. I am
in the process of watermarking all of the other photos on the site now.
This work will be done tonight and tomorrow. I am uploading batches of the modified photos
tonight and will take care of the rest tomorrow. In addition, while I was working on adding the watermarks, a few
of the photos including most of the photos from the 1999 preview show have been
retouched using Adobe Photoshop, so I hope this improves the quality of them a
little bit. It's the best I can do with such poor quality originals.
July 12, 2000:
I'm
finishing up with watermarking the photos and hope to be able to get back to
work on the other photo collections soon. Starting on Monday the 17th, you
will be able to access the site at
www.sthsband.org.
October 6, 2000: All
Middletown content is now online and work has just begun on "Hannaband
V.2" a complete redesign of the website. This new design was
developed by Harris Boyce, former band member and drum major. The
Mechanicsburg show is this weekend and the staff at Penn State Berks was kind
enough to allow me to borrow a digital camera for the weekend, so there will
be more pictures online early next week.
October 25, 2000:I
have not had time to add photos and content from the previous few weeks, but the
boosters page is now updated.
November 19, 2000 2am:I am slowly
getting more time to work on the site, I updated the main page, site info page,
and copyright info page. Behind the scenes, I am working on preparing more
of the photo collections to be posted or at least thrown up for display and
clean up the design later.
December 29, 2000: Harris
and I put in a good many hours on the site late last night and early this
morning. Right now, we are working on developing a version 2.1 site
redesign, and I will be working on getting as many of the outstanding images
into the site as I can. It still is not possible to download images from
shutterfly.com and although I could capture them, they would not be of the
highest quality. I will try to consolidate them into a single account so
that anyone wishing to view them online may do so. In the meantime, if you
would like access to these pictures which include summer 2000, chapters and accs,
please email the webmaster. I've also updated the links page with links to
some popular drum corps, marching related sites, and an assortment of links for
other bands in the central PA area and state wide.
